The title of my blog reads "2 Million Dollar Bills" with the slogan, "One Man and His Mission to Make 2 Million Dollars". I was asked the question the other day from one of my friends, why choose 2 million dollars as you're goal? What is your thought process behind the setting of this target? Is it just a catchy title that I thought sounded good or is there a deeper reason behind it? Well there is a deeper reason behind it! I wanted something tangible to aim for, something I felt was within my reach and achievable. I know if I can make 2 million dollars I will be able to achieve the kind of lifestyle I want and deserve. I know my goal is something, which I can achieve with, lots of patience, hard work, dedication and self believe.

I have read countless stories about varies successful business people, of when they were first starting out on the road to success. They would talk about setting yourself business goals and personal goals, of where you want to get to and how you are going to achieve it. Many would recommend using visual realization techniques such as the cutting out of pictures from magazines, of things that you aspire to own, such as a Luxury home, Ferrari, Rolex, Yacht, etc. Or every night closing your eyes for 10 minutes, and then visualizing yourself being successful and living the lifestyle, which you are aiming for.

I was one of those people that didn't take the visualization technique concept very seriously; I thought what a load of bull. I was stuck too far inside the box to believe that such a ridiculously simple technique could offer anything worthwhile. Whilst studying Business studies I would diligently do my marketing, communication, computing, accounting studies etc and could see the benefits that they would offer a businessperson. I feel that I had failed myself by not allowing myself to think outside the box and explore non-academic techniques, which so many successful people, have and are using to inspire them towards achieving their goals.

Visual realisation techniques have now become part of my daily routine on my path towards reaching my goal of making 2 million dollars. Like every budding entrepreneur should, I have written down my goals so that I have got something to refer to on a regular basis, which also may need to be changed as my businesses expand and grow.

As part of my visual realization program I have downloaded and printed off pictures of what I'm going to buy when I have become successful, and they are as follows:

  • One acre piece of land in Barbados in an up and coming area.
  • I will build a 5-bedroom home with swimming pool and wrap around balcony on my land. {I will manage the building of the house myself}.
  • A second 4-bedroom house on my land, which I will rent out to tourists. {Again I will self build it}
  • Hummer H2 {red with chrome fittings}.
  • Bayliner Sunbridge 5 berth Motor Yacht
  • Rolex Oyster Perpetual submariner.
  • Serena Williams {who wrote that, it wasn't me, honest} I mean I will pay to play a game of tennis with her and give the money to charity.
I have all of these pictures pinned to a board on my wall and look at them on a daily basis and loudly say the words, Believe, Achieve, Succeed.

Reaching my goal of 2 million dollars is only the first stage of where I want to get too. There is more to come, but, first things first.
