When you say dimensions, it is not just the size of what you see, which includes the expanded area already. To get the dimension of the bag, you should take the actual width of the bag. This is the area that covers the measurement across the bag. This is taken at the opening or mouth area of the bag. To take the depth of the bag, you should take the measurement of the whole bag. This includes the expandable area, whether on the side or at the bottom. To take the length dimension, measure the opening to the bottom part of the bag.
