How To Attain a Positive State of MindIbrahim Badhusa ![]() To be happy and successful in life, it is necessary to have a positive state of mind. It is necessary to feel that we can achieve anything we want. This is possible if we drive out negative thoughts and feelings and develop a positive state of mind. Our thoughts are controlled by our mind. What we consciously feel and do is in fact what we subconsciously feel. So, our thoughts should first be positive. Whenever we have negative thoughts or feel that we will not be able to perform to the best of our ability, we should drive these thoughts out and start thinking positively. Our mind is always full of thoughts. They give rise to all kinds of feelings like jealousy, hatred, anger, doubt and fear. Such negative thoughts will affect us. The subconscious mind should feel it can achieve everything that we want. It should be filled with positive thoughts which will encourage us to perform to the best of our capabilities. To change our way of thinking we can do simple meditation everyday. We can write down our random thoughts on a paper for about five minutes. All the negative thoughts can be crossed out. This will leave the positive thoughts. In this manner we can reinforce positive thinking. This can be done everyday. You can sit or lie down in a quiet place. Be calm, close your eyes and think of a few of the positive things that you have written. Feel as if you have attained the goal that you want. This can be done for about half an hour. See all this in your mind's eye. Visualize it. This will give you positive thoughts. Once you open your eyes you should cling on to the positive feeling. If this is done on a daily basis, you will achieve a positive feeling. It is like changing your thought process and the more positive you think the more positive you will become. Do not give way to negative feelings. If you feel negative, your performance level will come down. In such a case, go for a long walk and calm down. You should choose a quiet place away from all kinds of noise and distractions. This will help you to have clear thoughts. If there are people around who are negative and give rise to negative feelings or thoughts - stay away from them. Meditation and taking control of our subconscious mind with powerful and positive thoughts will enable us to attain a positive state of mind. We should always remember that we are in control of our life. The thoughts in our mind will make our life worth living and help us in achieving our desires and goals. We should have control over our life and our thoughts. Drive away negative thoughts. Reinforce positive thinking. Always be sure that you can definitely achieve all that you want. Nothing is impossible. Many people around us have achieved great things by being positive. People undergoing difficult times financially, people out of jobs, people who feel that they are not doing as well as they should really be doing and people who are recovering from serious illnesses should all have positive thinking to get the best out of life.
