Once one starts writing especially online, it can be confusing what to write about. There are so many topics, subjects, niche's to choose from one may wonder how to get ideas to write about. Some quick and easy strategies will get you started right away.
When its time to write a piece think about who the target market is or who is your audience? Look at who will be reading your work. Now a good way for beginning writers to start out is to look for sites that ask for requests. Most content sharing sites will have a request section where they list a variety of topics of interest that they need writers to write on. Just pick one and get started.
Best way to get ideas of things to write about is to write on things that you are very familiar with. Everyone is an expert in something. What are you good at? Is there something that you could show others how to do in 200 to 300 words or less. If so then you are ready to start a writing career that will never come up short. People always want to know how to do something. Show them how, use your skills and help them with your articles or stories.
Another good way to come up with idea is to read the newspaper, much of the news stories will talk about latest mergers or trends. What are people doing or talking about. When it comes to finding out what people like just start reading and looking around your own community and see what people are doing.
A great place to see what people are doing is to go to the mall, department stores have loads of ideas, what are people wearing, what are people driving, how are people styling their hair, when it comes to the type of stores they shop at, is it budget stores or expensive stores. What people buy tells a writer alot about what would be something that others would like to read about.
Now that you have some new ways of looking at your surroundings and reasons to read the newspaper, you will be glad to get started when its time to write your piece. Keep a notepad near by so as to write down the things you notice, then look at ways to present it in written format that will be of interest to others.
