Why the Title of Your Article Is Just As Important As the Content
Laurie Haynes ![]() ![]() Laurie Haynes Freelance Writing Services Have you noticed that when writing, it is tempting to write a title that catches the eye but does not fulfill the promise inside the article. The title is just as important as the content, it is the introduction of what is to come. Readers decide if they will read an article from what they see in the title, make sure to lead the reader into what will be explained in the text. Getting the right title can sometimes take some thinking, what is it that you want readers to know, what can they take away from the article that will be of use and helpful to them? Give readers a chance to make decisions based on the material. A good example is if your title is how to groom german shephards, make sure to include in your content a step by step tutorial on grooming tips and what is necessary to groom this particular dog as well as what makes this particular dog unique to grooming. Now if you said how to groom a dog then you can write in a more general tone since it could include any type of dog. Sometimes writers forget about what got the reader interested in the article in the first place and they lose focus on what key points to cover when writing the article. Don't let this happen to you. Ask yourself a few questions: How will I answer the question the title poses to the reader? Will I need to put material in a step by step format? Does my material fulfill the promise the title states? Not only do you want to catch your audiences attention but you want to let the readers know that you have them in mind when your writing, its easy to get caught up in just formating the material and then getting it on the page, and it is another to use the page as a way to communicate, its your voice, what will you be saying. Think of it as a conversation of words, this way you will be able to thoroughly get your message across. These tips will help you make sure that your title is as important as your content.
