Must Have MarketingRobert Johnston ![]() " Some people have a grudge against marketing, or like to avoid it as much as possible if they can. They don't think that their company is going to need much marketing in order to survive. They can sell themselves based on the service they provide and general word of mouth <. Let me tell you something, I don't think a company exists that didn't use marketing to get themselves known. Marketing isn't meant to make up for bad service or anything like that. Marketing isn't only for the businesses who don't have what it takes to make it big through pure skill. Certain aspects of marketing have a much more practical use, and you need to be aware of exactly why marketing exists. Take business card printing as a very good example of what I'm referring to here. Now, on the one hand business cards are certainly a form of marketing. They help highlight a businesses name and keep people aware of what's going on with a company. If handed out in the right areas they can generate interest in your company, getting more people to come in and shop. But they also act as a source of information for people. A business card has the practical purpose of handing people information about you and a means of contacting you. You may not like the idea of a lot of marketing, but that still doesn't change the fact that people need to know how to contact you if they want to give you business. That's why business card printing is definitely a marketing must if you want to get any kind of success with your business. The true purpose of marketing is merely to spread your businesses name. Word of mouth is unreliable, and someone might very well love your service, but they won't always tell everyone they know about it. This is another area in which business cards can be helpful. Maybe they do want to tell someone else about you, but they don't remember all of the details. Who memorizes phone numbers that quickly, or even company names? Sure, they thought you did a great job, but they can't quite remember who you are. If they had one of your business cards they wouldn't need to struggle to remember what your company name is or how to contact you. You're providing them with a convenience they wouldn't be able to get otherwise. Marketing might not be something everyone enjoys, but it's certainly something every company needs. Word of mouth alone will never be enough to truly make a company big. If you never plan on expanding, then maybe you can generate enough of it to keep you going, but you'll always remain small. Embrace your marketing and start generating as much business as you can. Visit this site for more information on business card printing
