Few people understand what stress is even though it is regularly discussed. Some people think stress to be a fact of life and others thinks it is only a once in awhile occurrences. Stress is very real and can manifest itself in serious psychological and physiological ways although people view it as a very general, nonspecific cause of illness. Any event in our lives can trigger stress no matter how small and insignificant. Acquiring skills for coping with stress is important as it can help you avoid the serious illness that can be caused by it including hypertension, depression, migraines and ulcers. Try to limit your body's exposure and reaction to stressful situation as this can reduce the negative effects of stress. It may seem difficult to cope with stress but it really comes down to identifying and managing your time, managing your stress triggers and avoiding burnout. In some situation stress are easier to identify and anticipate our body's reaction, for example going on the first date. But other types of stress cannot be easily anticipated. Just as the body's response to different situations will vary so are the skills for coping with stress. Three tips to remember that is, knowing what triggers stress, improve time management skills and reducing burnout. To help you identify your stress triggers, try to keep track of the entire stressful situation that you have encountered. Just a simple note of events and conditions that brings the negative emotional or physical response, try to describe the situation briefly. Other points to write down are the date and time, location and any other people present. These points are important to assist you in identifying your stress triggers and having it on paper will certainly make it easier to develop the skills that you need for coping with stress. Effective time management skills go hand in hand with skills for coping with stress. Effective and efficient time management will give you clarity on your goals and priorities. the first thing to do to improve your time management skills is by setting a realistic and concrete requirements and deadlines for yourself. Check your progress by reviewing your goals and deadlines. Be systematic by prioritizing your task and completing them. Reward your self for your accomplishment every time you reach your goals and deadlines. When reviewing your list of task, focus on what you have complete the rather than those that are yet to be done. A good time management certainly applies to coping with stress in your personal life as well. Do not be overwhelmed with stresses this can lead to physical problem and the deterioration of personal relationship.
