The First LookKaren Grahams ![]() printplace First, I would suggest that if you've never considered using custom greeting cards with your business, that you take a look at them. This article is going to be specifically dealing with your first impression based on if you're using greeting cards. If you haven't used them than take this as a good chance to get a feel for what they can accomplish. Okay, moving onto the topic at hand, I'm sure you put a lot of thought into the first impression you make on people. Whether in person or through your marketing, I think it's pretty well known by this point that you need to keep a careful eye on how you come across, because this is going to make a big impression. Well, for the face to face meeting you have quite a bit of control over what's going on, and you can help guide things in the way you want. But with your marketing you have to plan everything out ahead of time. You aren't there to alter things depending on who you're dealing with, and you need to be able to convince people you're worth their time based purely on what you say. This is why custom greeting cards are a good way of first letting a person get to know you. I know of many companies who start out by sending postcards advertising a sale or something similar. I'm not complaining about postcards by any means, but this isn't quite the first impression you'll want to make on people. A colorful greeting card can do a wonderful job of introducing yourself in a way people aren't going to be as used to. Remember too that this isn't just about inviting them to come into your store or call you up to hire your services. Why not mention a little about yourself on your card? Invite them in, but also explain exactly who you are and how you can help them. Make sure that your card does two things: the first is that is stays heavily focused on how you can make the customer's life easier, and the second thing is that it does a good job at giving out a lot of information about you. If you can do that than you'll not only be able to grab a person's attention but convince them that you can help them, and that they can trust you. These are two very difficult things to pull off, and what you need to do if you want a person to bother with you. You don't want your first interaction with a person to be you trying to get a sale out of them. Take the time to introduce yourself with a good custom greeting card. Tell them why you can provide the best services for them. If you do this, I don't know how you can make a better first impression.
