Self harm and teen cutting is related to child sexual abuse. In Austria child abuse is the latest big news with a man who is on trial for the sexual abuse of his own daughter. What makes the case even more sick is the fact that this man tied her in a basement and sexually abused her over a period of time. The girl is mentally confused and suffers from deep emotional problems.
Teen cutting and self harm is a growing problem worldwide. Statistics show that those who do harm themselves usually have some history of being sexually abused. This year in Ireland it was reported that over 33% of Irish teens who harm themselves wanted to die. There are also many adults who self harm. The case in Austria is typical of the abuse of children that has grown worldwide. In particular sexual abuse of children is also a big problem in many parts of the South Pacific,Asia and India, there are many sex workers who are as young as 8 years old.
What this man in Austria did is sick and it sets a child up for a life of deep emotional problems. The Father of this girl has gotten her pregnant on many occasions while still keeping her as his personal slave. Self harm is when a person turns against their own self to relieve an inner pain. It is done as a solution to an inner problem that does not seem to have a solution. Some say that self harmers are not suicidal but this is not true; many do not care if they live or die. Studies show that often they do think about ending their lives. On a good note if you are suffering from depression or self harm there is a new technique that has been reported to be freeing people from the pain of their emotional problems. The technique was discovered on a film set while working with depressed and suicidal people. The treatment involves the deactivating of negative thought. This has been recently proven and is a great breakthrough. The filmmaker discovered that what science did was great but there was something even better, the combination of deactivating the suicidal thought and an added emotional fill process by the filmmaker was leading to dramatic results. It is important to stop cutting immediately; if you are cutting yourself you are leaving deep emotional and psychological pain.
