Affiliate marketing is a great way to get started in e-business. You can have your business up and running in little time with minimal risk. The idea is to send visitors to a merchant's web site that you represent. When they buy from the merchant, you receive a commission.
Being an affiliate marketer means that you need to put yourself between the customer and quality merchants. So what is the best way to position yourself for this? The answer is a natural, proven process called
Content --> Traffic --> Presell --> Monetize.
The idea of the C-->T-->P-->M process is to build income through content. The process works like this. You create content (the "C") that people are searching for which brings in targeted traffic (the "T"). Then you warm up (presell) your visitors so they will click through your recommendation with an open-to-buy attitude (the "P"). Then you generate income (monetize - the "M") when your presold visitors buy.
You can generate an income using the low risk affiliate model as your primary income if you do not have your own product or service to sell. Or you can use it as a secondary income source as well.
Becoming a successful affiliate marketer with this process is certainly not a "get-rich-quick" scheme and will require that you put forth effort and passion. Keep in mind that you are building a real business.
